British in Tokyo
こんにちはさやかです。Hello my name is Sayaka.
イギリス人と日本人のハーフです。イングランドに全体の生活を住んでいました。小さいな町名前は「St Albans」は地元で、この町はロンドンから北に1時間です。十九歳からロンドンに四年で住んでいました。「Chelsea College of Art」の美術大学に行きました。一年間前に日本に移りました。日本の生活が楽しいし、すばらしいお友達がいるし、帰りたくないです。
I am English and Japanese. I have lived in England my whole life. I come from a small town called St Albans, one hour north of London. I lived in London for 4 years from the age of 19. I attended Chelsea College of Art University. I moved to Tokyo 1 year ago. I enjoy life in Tokyo; I have made lots of great friends and don’t want to return yet.
まだ日本語はペラペラではありません。でも私の一番の重要な計画は日本語を話せるようになることです。会議で分からなかった言葉を書いています。後でリストは追加する。一週間に五十回の言葉を覚えています。
At the moment my Japanese is not fluent. But that is my main goal, to be able to speak Japanese. I write down words I hear in meetings that I don’t understand, then add them all into a list. Every week I try to learn 50 words.
日本の音楽を聞きます。「D.A.N」,「Roy Tamaki」と「小沢 健二」のコンサートが見ました。それがいい練習と思います。何故ならこれは簡単で楽しみな勉強です。
I listen to Japanese music. I saw Kenji Ozawa, D.A.N and Roy Tamaki live at gigs. I think this is a good way to study because it is an easy going and enjoyable way.
初めて東京に来た時に思ったことは「どうしてチョコレートとチーズはすごく小さいですか?」
The first time I came to Tokyo I thought ‘why is the chocolate and cheese so small?’
いつでも歩行者の交差点を横切ることができると思った。イングランドで白の横断歩道の意味は、いつでも歩いていいということです。白のラインがない横断歩道だけは待たなければいけません。
I thought I could cross any pedestrian crossing at any time. In England if a crossing has white lines it means you can walk it freely, only those without are ones you have to wait at the traffic lights for.
PASMOを沢山落としました。
I kept on dropping my PASMO everywhere.
でも今は東京の生活は慣れました。
But now I am use to Tokyo life.
じゃあ多分慣れなかったでもステップバイステップね。
Okay maybe not there yet, but I’m getting there.
人はすごく優しいだし、日本語の勉強できるし、スパイスワークスで働くことをとても楽しんでいます。会社で英語のチャレンジが作った。このチャレンジはインスタグラムであります。毎日オフィスで使うフレイズを考えてイラストを描いています。それをインスタグラムで配信します。フォローして楽しむお願いします。
I have really enjoyed working for Spiceworks, the people are very kind and I have been able to study Japanese. In the company I have created an English challenge. This challenge is on Instagram. Every day I think of an office phrase to translate and illustrate. I then upload it to Instagram. Please feel free to follow and enjoy!
